From Patient to Pelvic Pain Coach: How Mary Conquered Vestibulodynia, Endometriosis, and IC with Pelvic Floor PT
Suffering from a combination of provoked vestibulodynia, endometriosis, and interstitial cystitis (also known as IC) for over 25 years, Mary saw practitioner after practitioner (including over 30 physical therapists). Unfortunately, she continued to suffer with pain. Despite this, Mary did not give up—she persisted until an answer could be found. That answer came from a collaborative relationship between Julie Sarton, DPT and Dr. Irwin Goldstein. These two worked together to help bring about an end to Mary’s pain.
Mary’s resilience is heroic, and her dedication to treatment is exceptional. We are deeply inspired by her story and moved by her decision to take her life’s greatest pain and turn it into her life’s greatest work. Mary is now a Pelvic Pain Coach herself, and now shares her own journey and helpful healing resources through www.beyondpelvicpain.com.
In Mary's own words:
”I am 100% pain free today and have stayed pain free for over 5 years. The physical therapy treatment I received from Julie was far superior to any physical therapy I had before. She was able to pinpoint the source of my pain immediately. I went to her for internal work and she gave me a home program that allowed me to correct imbalances in my body that were exacerbating my pelvic floor spasms. Julie empowered me to change my body, so I could finally become pain free.”
