About Alexa

Dr. Alexa Charbonneau grew up in South Orange County and loved it enough to stay close throughout her education. She moved to San Diego to receive her Undergraduate Degree from San Diego State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. She soon moved back to Orange County to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chapman University.

During her time pursuing her Doctorate Degree, Alexa spent time treating patients in settings including orthopedics, pediatrics, and acute care/ICU. While in school, she also attended the annual national PT conference and was eager to grow her knowledge in pain science and the physiology of pain as it relates to the pelvic floor. After a clinical rotation emphasizing the importance of pelvic health and visceral mobilization and an elective class at Chapman University, Alexa knew she wanted to pursue pelvic health. Throughout her experience treating patients in an orthopedic setting, she has learned that the pelvic floor is often the missing piece of the puzzle in treating many common orthopedic conditions.

Outside of the clinic, you will find Alexa walking her dogs Bella, Teak, and Scout at the beach, seeking out new restaurants to try, and spending time outdoors with her friends and family.

Changed Lives

“…As soon as I came to Sarton and met with Alexa, I immediately knew how educated she and the practice were in dealing with pelvic floor issues, which unfortunately I’ve found not as many practitioners truly understand.

Alexa quickly realized how to treat me without causing a flare up, which was incredible to me given my previous experiences. This allowed me to heal and allowed my brain and therefore my body to relax. Alexa has so many different methods she uses to treat me, and I’m so wowed at how they work. I highly recommend Alexa to anyone!…

I’m very grateful for Alexa, Sarton, and all the practitioners who have been helping me heal. I’m in no pain most of the time, and I’m getting better everyday and know I’ll soon be completely pain free. This is so significant to me and my future now finally looks bright and light.”
