About Nikita

Dr. Nikita Govind graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University of Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Soon after, she moved to New York City where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Columbia University with exceptional achievements including High Honors. Notably, Columbia University's physical therapy program stands as the sole Ivy League offering of its kind in the nation.

Nikita's time spent at prestigious institutions such as Stanford University Hospital and New-York Presbyterian Hospital -- engaging in orthopedics, neurology, pain management, acute care and more -- sparked a profound passion for pelvic rehabilitation. Her experiences have led her to develop an appreciation for the interconnectedness and dynamics of the human body, which significantly shapes her whole-body approach to treatment. As a result, she hopes to empower patients with a deeper understanding of their bodies and pain. She is thrilled to be part of a growing field and aspires to make valuable contributions to pelvic health advocacy.

Nikita has a strong background in health and fitness as a dancer, nutrition enthusiast, and former personal trainer. Outside of the clinic, Nikita loves traveling to new countries, exploring diverse cuisines, and reading in her favorite coffee shops. She also enjoys puzzles, board games, and spending time with her friends and family.

Changed Lives

“…It took years for me to realize my health concerns were pelvic floor related and when I made my appointment they scheduled me with Dr. Nikita. I felt so much peace and relief after the first appointment because she was able to thoroughly explain to me what my problems were and what the next steps were to resolve it. It was the first time I really felt like I understood what was going on with my body and that alone gave me so much more peace. Dr. Niki made me feel so comfortable and we had such fun conversations that I always was excited to go to PT! It has now been 1 year of consistent weekly PT and I can say that my primary health concern has been fully fixed and my main goal has been met! I cannot believe how far I’ve come in my pelvic floor health journey and it’s all thanks to Dr. Niki. She truly changed my life and I’m so so thankful for her and everyone at Sarton PT.”
